Title: We're Just Creatures (LIQUESCENT)

Creation Date: Summer 2024

Medium: Music (Voice, Music Production and Composition)

Dimensions/Duration: 2:15

The lush beauty of an ecosystem is highlighted in We're Just Creatures from LIQUESCENT. I imagined myself as another creature (a fish) coexisting in my predetermined world. When suddenly, something goes awry in my environment, and I need to adapt. This sets off alarm bells (orchestral horns and vocal shouts) but I must carry on.

In this piece I play with a repeated arpeggio representing time passing in ones life. I also bring in darker, heavier sounds with sub-bass. This piece was created completely solo, with no assistance by any other parties.

Title: The Last Iceberg (LIQUESCENT)

Creation Date: Summer 2024

Medium: Music (Voice, Music Production and Composition)

Dimensions/Duration: 2:15

Fantasy and reality meet in The last Iceberg. It is the opening musical piece for my eco multidisciplinary project LIQUESCENT: A JOURNEY TO THE MELTING ICE CAPS. I feature my own classical style vocals on the track to give an heartbroken aria feel at the intro, and a haunting suffering effect into the more experimental synth arpeggio sections. The lyrics tell a story of a ship encountering the last iceberg left in the world. The piece ends with "what will you do?" repeated in different styles. This represents the different uses of this term around the climate crisis: what actions do we take now, and how do we react to the tragedy it may cause, etc. This piece was created completely solo, with no assistance by any other parties.

Title: Warmed Love (LIQUESCENT)

Creation Date: Summer 2024

Medium: Music (Voice, Music Production and Composition)

Dimensions/Duration: 2:15

Warmed Love from LIQUESCENT explores the power of love during the climate crisis. The piece starts with harps that get more and more filtered by effects into sudden tundra field sounds, representing how love bursts into the vast space, filling it with a full, fantastical orchestral sound. This "burst" represents the power of loving each other and the planet, despite what capitalism preaches. The end of the piece features a faux choir of my improvised singing, to highlight humanism.
